Update and a couple of tips

So, the wedding plans are now in full swing and my head is spinning with all the stuff I have to organise. It's looking like the wedding will be in August 2010 so there's alot to do before then! Any tips or advice anyone has on how they planned their wedding would be greatly appreciated!

Tip Alert! I have had a couple of comments that alot of people can't find the Kiss French Tip pen recently. If you don't have the Kiss pen or can't find it in any Boots stores, then alternatively you can use Scotch tape as a stencil for the tips. It's cheaper than buying the proper stencils and lasts longer. You just place the tape across the nail, apply the white polish, let it dry, then peel it off! Easy!

This next one is a bit of a cheat coz I acquired this ingenius beauty tip from the beautiful Nat at However, this tip is so good that I had to make sure everyone knew about it. When she uses a dark self tanner like St Tropez, she doesn't apply it to her hands or feet to avoid the telltale patchy/streaky bits that appear. Instead, she applies a gradual self tanner like the Dove one so her hands and feet are tanned but without being over the top or streaky. I had never thought to do this and I love the idea! Thanks Nat!

Also, on another note, I found out that Liz Earle actually has a US website! I didn't know about that...anyways, it's There are selected lines available in Studio (LA) and Browns (Miami) so if you live near there or want to order online, then I highly recommend the Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, Eye Bright Lotion, Instant Boost Tonic and the Skin Repair Moisturiser.

  1. Ooh wedding planning seems so exciting! I enjoy traditional weddings but for me, I'm going to go abroad and just take family and close friends. Then have a 3 week honeymoon :) x

  2. Congratulations on getting engaged! I don't have any wedding tips myself, but I have two weddings coming up soon, my best friend's in December, and my brothers in April so I will let you know if I pick up any tips. Think the first thing my best friend did was decide on a "theme" so because it's a winter wedding she wanted the venue to be like an icy theme... (classier than it sounds honest!) so there's going to be lots of silvery decorations.

  3. Make the invite's, table place name cards, and other stuff like yourself? Adds a personal touch.

I was at a wedding at the end of May, and the bride done all of the above herself.

That's all the tips I have, I've been engaged for 2 n half yrs =)

  4. Congrats! I'm having a destination wedding and its a bit easier since they have a wedding planner at the hotel already. But my tip or advice is to get confirmations in writing. Because its a long way down the track these vendors/makeup artists etc forget a lot of things. So have it in writing! Lastly, try to have fun:) and let loose on your hens!

  5. That is great news that you set a wedding date!
It's been 9 years since I got married but I do have on main tip: listen to your instincts and remember it is your day as a couple. There will be lots of different opinions from different people throughout the planning process but make sure to keep it in perspective, thank them and go with what you want :-)

  6. Congrats on starting the wedding planning. It's so much fun but stressful at the same time!! When planning a wedding everyone will throw their opinion into the mix but just go with what you feel is best...if you try to please everyone but yourself it will be even more stressful. Start planning early that way when the wedding date gets closer you don't have so much to worry about. That is my number one tip.....lets see if you can decorate early...that way you don't have to worry about that the day of the wedding..and dont forget the rings:) Congrats!

  7. Congrats doll!! I know it can be hectic but try to enjoy being the bride!!! I know you are going to be beautiful!!:)

Please leave a comment if you get a spare mo, I read every single one and I love hearing from you guys! I will always try and answer any questions you leave :)
